An Introduction to Science Policy: 8 October 2008, Newton's Apple

Newton's Apple, a charitable, non-partisan science policy think tank, run a programme of workshops as part of the 'Newton's Heirs' initiative,
aiming to bring scientists and policy-makers together to engage and learn from one another, aiming ultimately to benefit society through the greater
use of scientific evidence in the policy process.

"An Introduction to Science Policy" is a two-hour workshop for scientists, undergraduate level upwards, which allows an opportunity to
find out how scientific information is used in policy-making, and how scientists themselves can contribute to this process.

The next workshop will take place on 8 October 2008 from 14.00 - 16.00 in the Houses of Parliament, London.
Guest panellists include Dr Ian Gibson MP, a member of the Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Select Committee, and Dr Stephen Benn,
head of parliamentary affairs at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Panellists will then discuss their own experiences
of the science to policy process, before a discussion session and the chance for the scientists to pose questions to the panel.

Places are limited (a maximum of 30 are available). To register, contact Newton's Apple as soon as possible.
